High School Students as Citizen Scientists to Decrease Indoor Radon and Air Pollution Exposure
The international RadoNorm project aims to ensure effective radiation protection by combining scientific evidence with social considerations, while also raising public awareness about natural radioactive radiation. As part of this project, citizen science is being conducted with the participation of multiple countries, including the Centre for Energy Reserach (Hungary). The goal of this initiative is to promote the widest possible dissemination of program results and tasks, beyond conducting measurements. The program deals with the examination of indoor radon and related air quality characteristics, for which the goal is to develop a DIY toolkit suitable for wide-ranging residential use, and thus to study the conditions necessary to create the best indoor air quality conditions.
